How to create a nourishing circle of friends
Time, food and deep breathing are all ways to bring more nourishment into our days. And I also like to think about people who make me feel nourished.
Think about the last friend gathering that you experienced. Did you leave feeling uplifted or drained...or somewhere in between? Are you a fixer for a particular group of friends, or do you feel appreciated and wholesome when in their presence?
Continuing on this nourishment tip - prana is one of the most nourishing elements for our cells.
What is prana? Prana is the energetic life force that travels into the body via breath, food, and sunlight. High-pranic foods are fruits and leafy green vegetables. One way to get more prana into your system is through invigorating exercise such as ecstatic dance, yoga, qi gong, tai chi, or any other practice that links conscious breath with movement. Another method for drawing in more prana is pranayama, the art of breath practice.
One way to receive nourishment is through our food.
Let’s take a moment to meditate on the food cycle. Our precious earth provides fertile soil, the raw material for seeds to germinate and come forth. These seeds yield nutrients that are magically compatible with our cells!
I’m back! Having some vacation time was so relaxing and rejuvenating. I received the healing and restoration that I needed.
I also took a social media, computer, and Netflix break during my vacation. My system was initially shocked because these are some of my go-to’s for relaxation. Imagine listening to heavy metal music at ear piercing volume, then all-of-a-sudden someone turns the music off. With the screen gone, I was left with all of this......time. “What do I do with all this time?” I thought to myself. Well, I read books, spent time in nature, meditated, danced and sang - and it was SO nourishing.
