Hello my friend,
this month I've been challenged in so many ways and the result is a restored confidence in my personal practice and individual process - I want to share my story with you.
When I was a girl, my grandma would often say, “Believe in yourself, honey.” This was usually in response to an expression of fear and doubt in myself. I think that was her way of telling me that it’s okay to feel, okay to be myself, okay to believe in something only I could know.
This feeling is echoed by a saying in the Sat Nam Rasayan meditation community: “include everything in the space.” That’s a way of saying that everything we experience is part of the life meditation - that it's necessary to feel all the feelings, thoughts, and sensations in order to experience all facets of ourselves, see the patterns, and understand our process.
There is so much information in the world today about how we ought to live, feel, and act. It can be difficult to tease out the threads of truth and relevance and apply them to our own lives. So the point that I am circling around is this: Trust Your Process.
Most of you have been doing this work of yoga, meditation, and self-reflection for a long time. What you bring to the table as a human having lived this life however many decades is valuable information. Through your beautiful relationships and experiences, you know how to process stress, joy, transition. It can be easy to get caught in the tide of growing spiritually and it's good to check in with your innate instincts - the openings life has exposed to you - the light that shines because of it.
Trust your goods, honor your process, go into your practice, pull out your journal, turn the music up loud, and without explanation go through your shit the way only you know how.
Because you’re the only one who will experience it. You know more about yourself than any other human being. Honor yourself and do what’s right for you, because ultimately, you’re the one who has to live with your decisions. Have compassion and respect for your process, and know that your Spirit is so wise, words cannot even express the level of work you are doing right now. Keep it up. I see you.
