Back to the basics. Meditation 101: Sit in the silence and deeply listen. How many brilliant ideas, how many cosmic downloads, how many connections to the source are aided through the conscious communication that takes place in the silence? Millions.
The eighth pauree of the Japji Sahib, the sacred prayer of the Sikhs says:
Suniai sidh peer sur naath
Suniai dharat davaal aakaash
Suniai deep loa paataal
Suniai poeh na sakai kaal
Naanak bhagataa sadaa vigaas
Suniai dookh paap kaa naas.
“Those who are merged in You, Those who spiritually lead,
Angels, Masters, Deeply Listen.
The Earth, And what holds the Earth, And what surrounds the Earth,
Inter-coordinate by Deep Listening.
The Continents, Other Realms, Lower Worlds, Work Together,
By Deep Listening.
Deeply Listening, Death
Cannot touch you.
Nanak, Those who surrender themselves in Love to the Divine
Continually blossom and bloom.
Deeply Listening, Sorrows and errors
The thing about silence is that you have to develop a relationship with it through consistent daily practice.
Chant or listen to this mantra with 11 repetitions of the eighth pauree, and then sit in the silence and listen.
