Yoga reminds me that all the tools I need to do what I need to do are inside of me right now! And this remembering process that I access through yoga and meditation is the definition of love. To know and appreciate my wholeness, that's love, man.
It took me a long time to get out of the cycle of looking outside myself for the next thing that would make me feel that sensation of love. I think the inward focus of kundalini helped me with that so much. Sometimes I felt like I received the sensation of love when I bought a new pair of boots, really nice ones, or when I got attention from this or that person.
But the appreciation of my own inherent awesomeness, based on the foundation that I know I’m not perfect and that's what makes me special. There's nothing more powerful than that. And that love I feel for myself is a fountain overflowing and promotes harmony in all of my environments. It's a lens through which we can see each other as ourselves and embrace what is not us as a piece of us.
This is that higher LOVE! Not sure if Steve Winwood intended for it to be taken this way, but he inspires it anyway. Have a lovely day!
